UK starts to turn off analogue TV signals in London

The old analogue TV signals are nearly dead in the UK. The country is moving to the digital TV completely. It’s because it can free up the spaces for the 4G network.

O2 said they need more airwaves for the 4G. Since last year, O2 has started to test their 4G network in the urban area. The speed is fast which provides around 20-50Mbps for users in average. The maximum speed would be 150Mbps.

Although people may need to spend some money to buy new digital TV or set top box, it seems stopping analogue TV signal is necessary to move forward.
