Currently, if you want to create digital magazines for different platforms quickly, you need to pay a lot of money to use Adobe or Mag+ services. Other than that, you would need to write all the engines and more. YouTube co-founders could be helping by their latest project Zeen.

Zeen is created by YouTube co-founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen. For those who forgot, these 2 guys have already left YouTube and created the company AVOS. AVOS has already acquired Delicious recently. The job page of Zeen has pointed to AVOS webpage.

Zeen website has already written “Discover and create beautiful magazines.” Users can pre-register the username now. Chad Hurley declined to talk about the details of Zeen.

Apple has provided the tool to create digital e-books. However, it would be only available for the iOS platform. All the interactive elements will lost if you want to export to other platforms. Adobe InDesign and Mag+ are the services which helps to create digital magazines like TNW Magazine, Engadget Distro, MacWorld.
